Weird World: The TV Show is a BAFTA award winning British/American comedy-drama action fantasy animated series produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The series premiered on June 21, 2019 on Disney Channel in the United Kingdom and will end in 2027. It premiered in the United States on August 16, 2019 and will end in the same year as the UK. The characters from the original film with the same name return and they embark on more madness and adventures, fighting monsters, saving their home and friends (sometimes each other) and finding special items, with plenty of laughs and tears to go round. Most of the episodes are rated U/TV-G, but some are rated PG/TV-PG, mainly for violence, scary scenes and mild language. Two have been rated 12 in the UK. All of the original film cast respire their roles, except for Will Smith (Craig) and Matt Lucas (Bash), who were replaced with Kevin Michael Richardson and Russell Brand (who also voices George) respectively. Smith and Lucas still voiced them in the films. Emma Bunton voiced Josie in the first two seasons and she was then voiced by Jennfier Love Hewitt, but Bunton returned in Season 7.

Trivia

  • George is the only character to appear in every episode.
  • The series starts a few months after the first film.
  • The first two seasons have one special (30 minutes long), Season 3 has three and every season after that has two.
    • Most season finales are also 30 minutes long, although they aren't counted as specials.
      • Three specials are 1 hour long - Life of Time and the last episode The Beginning of the End, which are both season finales and The Perfect Summer Holiday/Vacation.
  • A Christmas Special aired on Christmas Eve after Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6.
    • One was included as part of Season 5, so it didn't air after the end of that season.
      • There wasn't one after Season 7 or 8.
